Most label nutrients use a straightforward calculation to display the Percent Daily Value (%DV). The amount of the nutrient in the food divided by its Daily Value.
Example: One serving contains 2 mcg of Vitamin D. Divide that by the DV of 20mcg and you get .10 or 10% DV.
Protein %DV, however, takes into account the amino acid composition plus the digestibility of the protein. This is reflected in the Protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS).
NutriCalc allows you to enter a PDCAAS so you can display the %DV of protein
Enter a PDCAAS Value
Select the Recipe.
- Open the Details tab
- Enter the PDCAAS Score.
- Note: It will always be a number between 0 and 1.
- Remember to Save after entering the score.
- Open Labels.
- Select the USA Label.
- Click view.
- The %DV Protein will populate on the Nutrition Facts label.
