The Dual Column - Two Forms label is a voluntary label used when your food traditionally requires further preparation, such as dry cake mixes, cereal or dry pasta products. One column lists information for the product as packaged and one column for the product as prepared or, in the case of cereal, as commonly eaten.
Like the other USA labels, you can add voluntary nutrients and manually edit both columns of the label.
To View a Dual Column: Two Forms label
- Build two recipes - one for the product as packaged and sold, and one for as it is prepared or commonly eaten.
|
Note: To build the second recipe correctly, you would use the serving size from the first recipe (for the item as packaged) and add to that the weight of the additional ingredients. For example, if you are creating a dual column label for cereal with milk, you would first create a recipe with a 40g serving size (based on the RACC). Then, you would create a recipe with a serving size that is the 40g plus the additional 1/4 cup (120g) of milk. So, the serving size for the second column (which you would enter in Details > Recipe Serving Size) would be 160g.

Step 1: Open the recipe for the product as packaged.
Step 2: Open the Labels tab.
Step 3: Select the USA Label card.
Step 4: Select Format: Dual Column: Two Forms.
Step 5: Search for the second recipe.
Step 6: Click Generate Label.
Step 7: You can edit this label like you would the standard nutrition facts, with some specific differences:
- The first column edit is where you modify the label header and any first-column nutrients.
- The second column edit is where you modify both column headers and any second-column nutrients.
Step 8: (Optional) Once you have finished making edits, you can export the label.
