The Serving Size card includes options for setting or calculating the recipe serving size and for how the serving size should be displayed on the label.
Recipe Serving Size
NutriCalc automatically calculates the nutritional information based on 100g of the Recipe. If desired, nutrition information may be set to reflect any serving or portion size, as well as per the serving size as calculated from the number of servings.
Open the Recipe.
- Open Details.
- Navigate to the Recipe Serving Size card and check the box.
- Select Serving or Portion Size.
- Enter the Serving Size in grams (or the Specific Gravity used).
The updated information is now displayed in the Nutrition tab.
Updated Serving Size will now display on the Nutrition Label in grams (or milliliters, if this is a liquid recipe).
Alternately, the Serving Size can be calculated by adjusting the Number of Servings per Recipe. Follow the steps above, except select Number of Servings.
Serving Size Display
The U.S. Nutrition Facts requires a Serving Size Description, and it is optional for the UK Front of Pack and Back of Pack Reports.
This will be a household or common serving size, like 1 cup or 2 slices. If you are in the U.S. we recommend that you consult the RACC for appropriate serving sizes for your food.
To display a Serving Size description on your label and other reports
- Type in an appropriate Serving Size Description
- (Optional) Check Use on front of pack/back of pack to display the Serving Size description on those reports.
The USA Nutrition Facts Label must also display the number of servings per container.
- Enter the number of servings..
- (Optional) If it's not an exact number, select "About" from the menu.
