What is a Combined Packaging Report?
This report offers the possibility to easily collect all of the labeling elements and share them with one single report. When all of the individual elements have been entered, this report will pull of all of the data into one document.
Why this significant?
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires that most packaged foods sold in the United States display specific elements on the package.
These include the following:
- Statement of identity of manufacturer, packer, or distributor
- List of ingredients
- Net quantity of contents or amount of product
- Nutrition fact panel
- Allergens statement (required by Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA), enforced by FDA)
To access the Combined Packaging Report:
- Navigate to the Reports tab and open the Combined Packaging Report by clicking on View.
- The version of the label may be modified with selections under the various headers. These include the Format, Calculations, and Version.
- The preview section will automatically update based on those criteria.
Note: The Statement of Identity will automatically populate with the Recipe name. This may or may not be correct. Please make certain to verify the Statement of Identity complies with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
The statement of identity shall be in terms of:
- The name now or hereafter specified in or required by any applicable Federal law or regulation; or, in absence thereof,
- The common or usual name of the food; or, in the absence thereof,
- An appropriately descriptive term, or when the nature of the food is obvious, a fanciful name commonly used by the public for such food.
Note: The Ingredient and Allergen Statement is pulled from the Ingredient Statement and QUID Report.
