Cautionary Statements are required for most supplemented foods. Some Cautionary Statements depend on the amount of the supplemented ingredient-as-nutrient are included. The presence of supplemented caffeine triggers unique cautionary statements, depending on the category.
Note: Industry has until January 1, 2028, to implements the modifications. The cautionary statement threshold for caffeinated products are based on the updated proposed modification. To generate Cautionary Statements
Do one of the following:

With the recipe open, go to Reports and select the Canada Cautionary Statements card.
- From the Canada Supplemented Facts Label page, click on the link to the Canada: Cautionary Statement Report.
Once the Canada Cautionary Statements window is opened, then proceed with the next steps.
- If this product is supplemented with Caffeine, check that box.
- If Caffeine is selected, the open up the drop down for Category: None
- Select the correct category.
- Click the Generate Cautionary Statements button. The statement will look something like this example.
- This may be printed, copied, or exported via the ellipsis in the upper right corner of the window.
