This is where you enter nutrition values for the ingredient. Again, we recommend that you enter as much information as you have to help ensure future recipe (and label) accuracy. This article offers more information on data checks What are the Checks on Data?
Note: Nutrients are entered per 100g, as this is what's most commonly found on COAs. Be aware that not all nutrients are measured in grams.
Special instructions for sodium and salt
- Sodium and/or salt should be entered in milligrams.
- With a value of 2.5g per 100g of sodium for your ingredient, multiply this by 1000 to get the value in milligrams (2500mg).
- Entering sodium automatically calculates the salt value and entering salt automatically calculates the sodium value.
Allergens Tab
Incorrect allergen information is one of the leading causes of product recall. Make certain this data entered correctly.
Compound Tab

For example, if the new ingredient is "Seasoning" and it's made up of garlic powder and salt, enter the compound ingredients and they appear in the ingredient statement as individual ingredients.
