By default, the nutrition information for a new ingredient is measured in grams. In some cases, a more user-friendly or industry-friendly unit of measure may be more accurate. When the Specific Measure is edited, NutriCalc will convert the new unit into grams for the nutrition calculations.
To add other units of measure
Open the New Ingredient.
Click the Measures tab.
Enter the name of the measure. NutriCalc assumes 1 as the value.
Enter an equivalent value for the gram weight.
Example:
One tablespoon of ketchup equals 18.2 grams. Enter 'tbsp' for the measure and '18.2' for the gram weight.
In order to save this specific measure, please click on the plus sign to the left of the measure.
When this ingredient gets added into a recipe, tbsp now appears as an option for the unit of measure.
