Sometimes ingredients that you buy don't have a fibre value. However, as it should have been used to calculate energy, you can work it out.
Enter your nutrition values for the ingredient into the nutrient tab for your ingredient.
Leave energy blank (or set it to 0).
Energy (kJ) should have a guide triangle next to it. Click on this triangle to get an energy value based only on fat, protein and carbohydrate (not fibre). But do NOT click 'USE CALCULATED VALUE'.
Subtract the value shown from the energy(kJ) you have for your ingredient and divide by 8. This gives you the fibre value.
In the example shown, the energy value we have on the packaging is 198kJ per 100g.
So the difference in energy is 198-185 = 13
and the fibre is: 13 ÷ 8 = 1.6g per 100g
