By default, NutriCalc calculates and displays nutrition information per 100g. You can choose to display the information per milliliter (mL) volume for your beverages or other liquids using specific gravity.
What is specific gravity?
Specific gravity is, essentially, how heavy a liquid is compared to water.
This can be measured using these steps:
- Weigh the liquid
- Weigh the same volume of water
- Divide the weight of the water by the weight of the liquid.
For example, one liter of juice weighs 1041g. That same liter of water weighs 1000g. Divide 1041 by 1000 and you get 1.041. That is the specific gravity and that will be the number you enter.
Tip: In most conditions, 1000mL of water = 1000g.
Show/calculate nutrition information per mL using specific gravity
- Open the Recipe
- Click the Details tab
- Navigate to and check the Specific Gravity card
- Enter the specific gravity value
- Check Is a drink
Now the reports and labels will display the nutrition information per the mL volume serving size.
To return to per 100g, simply uncheck the Specific Gravity box.
